A two days’ Training cum Review Meeting of the program, Women in Micro Enterprises supported by SAMRUDI Rural Upliftment Foundation was held at KROSS Resource Centre on 11th & 12th May, 2017.

Ms Annie Anitha, Manager, SAMRUDI introduced the Resource Person, Mr. Aaron and his Team who would be demonstrating preparation of bakery products to the participants who had come from all over Karnataka. The Resource Person who himself is an entrepreneur having three bakeries in Bangalore firstly encouraged the participants to take up this trade as it entailed very less investment. He provided theoretical inputs followed by practical demonstration in preparing Cakes, Scones, cup-cakes, various types of biscuits and chocolates. The participants were well enthused with the training and some of them said they would be starting this business in their own districts. Mr. Harry Lobo, BDSSS, Belgaum thanked the resource team on behalf of the organization and participants.

On the 2nd day the Diocesan Social Service Societies presented their half yearly progress report and were provided with feedback on improving their strategy so that more women entrepreneurs could be created at the grassroots level.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS/SAMRUDI reminded the participants that this program was meant for the poorest of the poor so that they could augment their family income whereby they would be in a position to provide decent education, health care and nutritious food to their children. He reminded the participants that they should identify small enterprises which the women could take up with less investment but with a better scope of marketability.

Mr. Arulappa, BDDS, Bellary moderated the entire session. Mr. Clement Fernandes, Manager Programs, KROSS welcomed the gathering. Ms Nirmala, ORBIT, Bidar proposed the vote of thanks.
