Inaugurating the two days (08.04.14 to 09.04.14) Workshop on how to use images for making the world aware of the work being done by us, Rev. Fr. Peter Brank, Director, Karnataka Regional Organization for Social Service (KROSS), Bangalore remarked that KROSS and its 14 partners have been doing wonderful work in their respective districts but very few have heard it due to the poor documentation of the work done. He wisely summed up by quoting from the Bible what Christ had said “Let not the left hand know what the right hand does” but said that this dictum is wrongly understood and the donors and others want us to tell the world what we are doing for the oppressed and the downtrodden. When we speak about the works done, other people are also motivated to do similar good work. Many prospective donors would come forward to help people who are needy.

Rev. Fr. Vijay Victor Lobo, Director, Sandesha and Regional Director for Social Communications who was the Resource Person said that if you have to reach out to the poor then you have to expand your work and tell the world what you are doing. The workshop did not consist of any lectures but it was a hand on experience for each and every participant who had to document the work of the organization through visual images, doing video interviews and creating a good documentation.

The two days workshop ended with the participants expressing their opinion and stating that this workshop was very productive and requesting for a further follow up workshop to enhance their capabilities.

Mr. Clement Fernandes moderated the Workshop and Mr. Vincent Sequeira proposed the Vote of Thanks.
