Training On Development Communication.

A training on Development Communication was conducted at KROSS Resource Centre on 29th August, 2017 in which 62 participants from all over the State participated.

In his key note address, Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS emphasised the need of this particular training as he said that we in the social development sector have to face the community at the grassroots level as well as interact with the authorities at taluk and district level. Hence we should be effective communicators, i.e. we have to develop our verbal, nor verbal, written and visual communication skills. We are doing tremendous work but we are lacking in documenting the work that we do. He said, lets showcase the work we do in the field so that people know the work that we do and the changes that has been brought in the lives of the people whom we serve, which is also what the stakeholders expect of us. We have to know that what we learn today becomes outdated the next day and hence there is a need today to learn the new techniques that are being introduced in development communication.

Mr. Krishna Murthy facilitated the workshop through inter-active participation of the group by way of discussions, skits, counselling sessions and the approach to be adopted during home visits.

Mr. G. M. Varghese, KROSS welcomed the participants, Mr. Stanley Fernandes, Sampada, moderated the workshop and Mr. Hemant Kumar, JVSSS proposed the vote of thanks.
