Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Service to Humanity stems from the Love of God which motivates us to work for the poor and the most marginalized communities said Dr. Bernard Moras, the Archbishop of Bangalore in his Presidential address during the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society (SMSSS) on 9th March 2015.

Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society, a partner organization of Karnataka Regional Organization for Social Service (KROSS) is rendering yeoman service since 1989 to the most marginalized communities.

Mr. Oscar Fernandes, Member of Parliament, Government of India inaugurated the programme. Mr. Kimmane Ratnakar, Minister Primary & Secondary Education, Government of Karnataka, Shri Veerabhadra Chennamalla Mahaswamiji, Seer, Nidumamidi Mutt, Fr. Paul Moonjely, Asst. Executive Director, Caritas India and other spoke on the occasion. The representatives of the donor organizations present were Fr. Paul Moonjely, Asst. Executive Director & Mr. Jimmy Mathew, State Officer, Caritas India, Fr. Peter Brank, Director & Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Asst. Director, KROSS, Mr. Emmanuel Monis, Andheri Hilfe, Germany and Mr. Felix D’souza, FVTRS, Bangalore who were honoured for their support and cooperation.

Shri Veerabhadra Chennamalla Mahaswamiji was awarded the Chetana Shri Award for Peace, Communal Harmony & Social Development.

On the occasion of the Silver Jubilee 100 houses constructed for the poor were handed over to the beneficiaries...

Fr. Paul Moonjely along with Mr. K. B. Prasanna Kumar, MLA, Shimoga inaugurated the exhibition of the products being manufactured by the Self Help Group Members.

The celebration was witnessed by a large gathering of more than 12,000 farmers groups, Self Help Group Women, Priests, Religious and Political Leaders.

Fr. Veeresh Moras, Executive Director, SMSSS welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. The celebration came to an end with a cultural program followed by dinner.
