Our responsibility is to make the people aware that livelihood is much more than employment and goes far beyond generating income. Livelihood is a Pentagon consisting of Human Capital, Natural Capital, Social Capital, Physical Capital & Financial Capital. We have to make a conscious effort towards livelihood intervention by promoting and supporting livelihood opportunities for a large number of people and this is only possible through reaching out to the people at grassroots through information dissemination. The Livelihood implies that sufficient food is available, people have the means to access it and are able to feed themselves with dignity, are free from hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition said Fr. Peter Brank in his keynote address.

There were 60 participants from all over Karnataka State who actively participated through group discussions, quiz competition, awareness songs, building a strategy to create awareness through field trainings and asking the people to intervene in the public food distribution system.

Mr. Varghese welcomed the gathering, Mr. Maruti Naik proposed the vote of thanks and Mr. Clement moderated the workshop
