KROSS To Reach Out To 8000 Families With Renewable Energy Options For Rural Poor.

Today our country is at cross roads because we have not been able to tap the vast renewable energy option available to us like solar, wind and hydro power. We have to create model villages with renewable energy sources which should have a ripple effect and the local gram panchayats should be motivated to replicate this in other villages. The slogan “Go Green Go Clean” is echoing in our ears and it is the duty of every citizen to contribute to make this slogan come true said Rev. Fr. Peter Brank, Director, Karnataka Regional Organization for Social Service (KROSS) in his Presidential Address. He was talking at the launching of the Renewable Energy Options Program initiated by Karnataka Regional Organization for Social Service (KROSS), the official organ of the Karnataka Region Catholic Bishops’ Council with the support of Manos Unidas.

Mr. Ivan Negli, ex-MLC who inaugurated the program congratulated KROSS for taking up the challenging project which he said would contribute a lot towards reduction of environmental pollution. He assured KROSS of all assistance and said he would recommend KROSS to take up State Government Schemes to reach out to more people.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Asst. Director, KROSS welcomed the dignitaries and the representatives of 14 partner organizations who had come from all over Karnataka. Mr. Harischandra, KDDC proposed the vote of thank and Mr. Clement, Manager, KROSS compered the proceedings.
