Farewell to Rev. Fr. Peter Brank, Director, KROSS

A galaxy of dignitaries assembled at KROSS Resource Centre on 06th May 2015 to bid good-bye to Rev. Fr. Peter Brank on his relinquishing office as the Director, KROSS after a very fruitful stint from 05.06.2009 to 06.05.2015.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore paid highest paean to Rev. Fr. Peter Brank as he was instrumental for creating infrastructure and motivating youth to take up civil services. Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, President of KROSS and Bishop of Udupi remarked that the good work carried out by Rev. Fr. Peter Brank and the 14 partner organizations has paid rich dividends as today the visibility of KROSS is not only in the state but has extended nationally & internationally. Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, Vice President of KROSS and Bishop of Mysore extolled the simple virtues of Rev. Fr. Peter Brank and said that he had the ability to get any work done anywhere with his smile. Rev. Fr. Paul Moonjely, Asst. Director, Caritas India, New Delhi observed that Caritas India were taken up with his organizational & administrative acumen leading to him be appointed as the Coordinator of all 17 fora’s in the country. Rev. Fr. Faustine Lobo, National Director, PMI and Monsignor S. Jayanathan, Secretary, KRCBC were present on the dais.

Rev. Fr. Chourappa, Director, BDDS, Bellary conveyed the feelings on behalf of all the 14 Diocesan Directors of Social Development. Sr. Nancy Lobo, State Coordinator for Women Empowerment Program (WEP), KROSS expressed the feelings on behalf of the KROSS Team. Mr. Jagdeesh, SMSSS, Shimoga expressed the feelings of the WEP Team. Mr. Richard Martis, Finance Manager, KROSS read out the felicitation message on behalf of the President & Members, Karnataka Region Catholic Bishops Council, President, Vice-President & Members, KROSS, Regional Pastoral Centre Team and Director & Staff, KROSS.

On this occasion 2 books in Kannada, viz. Manini (Schemes for Women & Children) Hakku Dikku (Social Legislations), 1 book in English, Firm Steps (Internal Learning & Monitoring System and KROSS, Annual Report 2014-15 were released.

The program came to a colour end with different dances by the Siddi Tribal Dancers who were specially brought from Haliyal Taluk in Uttar Kannada District.

The dignitaries were welcomed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo and the vote of thanks was proposed by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes who assumed charge as the Director, KROSS. The program was compered by Mr. Harischandra, KDDC, Karwar and Ms Sudhamani, JVSSS, Mandya.
