Training on Socio - Cultural Analysis of Indian Society

A two days Training was conducted at KROSS Resource Centre, Bangalore on 7th & 8th July, 2015 on “SOCIO-CULTURAL ANALYSIS OF INDIAN SOCIETY” facilitated by Prof. Indira Krishnaswamy of Chennai.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS in his keynote address said that no society has been untouched by the complex process of socio-cultural dynamics but this process in the Indian Society has not replaced the traditional structure but adapted these to secure benefit of modernization and the chief characteristics features of Indian Society like the caste system, spirituality, joint family, democratic political system, relevance of religion are still maintained.

The participants who had come from different districts of Karnataka said that the training would be very useful at grassroots level to explain to the people of the change in features in traditional society, some of which are completely changed and some of which are still continuing.

Mr. Clement Fernandes, Manager- Program Support, KROSS moderated the two days’ session and proposed the vote of thanks.
