Workshop on Global Warming & Climate Change – 14.07.2015

A Workshop on Global Warming & Climate Change was organized at KROSS Resource Centre, Bangalore on 14th July, 2015.

Climate change is the biggest environmental and humanitarian crisis of our time as the earth’s atmosphere is over-loaded with carbon dioxide which is the cause of extreme weather and large scale disruption in climate which should spur us to use clean energy for our day to day needs. This also has an adverse effect on our health but few people are aware of it said Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS in his keynote address to the participants who had come from all over the state of Karnataka.

Dr. V. R. Haridas, Manager, Natural Resource Management & Zonal Manager, Caritas India who facilitated the workshop presented to the participants a bird’s eye view of the current scenario and educated them on what needs to be done by every individual to arrest the phenomena of global warming & climate change. He divided the participants into groups and gave them topics for discussion and presenting their views and finally made them do an Action Plan which they had to implement at the grassroots level so that changes could be from bottom up.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS welcomed the participants and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. G. M. Varghese, Program Officer, KROSS.
