KROSS Governing Body Meeting – 13th August 2015.

KROSS Governing Body Meeting was held on 13th August, 2015 at KROSS Resource Centre, Bangalore. The meeting was presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, President KROSS and Bishop of Udupi. He heartily welcomed the Members and sought their involvement, contribution and counsel so that the works undertaken by KROSS for the benefit of the poor and marginalized bear fruit. He also remarked that their constructive evaluation would help in moving in the right direction.

The reports of the programs supported by KROSS and implemented by the Diocesan Social Service Centres in the entire state of Karnataka were presented by the respective Program Officers and the feedback and suggestions received from the Members was accepted for better implementation of the programs.

Mr. Robinson D’souza, Former Law Secretary, Government of Karnataka enlightened the Members of the Corporate Social Responsibility and how we have to build a rapport with the Corporate to use this opportunity to tap funds.

Rev. Fr. Francis Guntipilly spoke on “Migrants Issue” and narrated how they were being discriminated and being taken advantage of by employers by paying them less wages than prescribed. He asked that we all should join hands with like-minded people make a survey of them and see how best we could help them, make them feel welcome and enable them to get their rights. He also suggested that all the Diocesan Social Work Directors join in the meeting arranged on 29th & 30th October, 2015 and to come up with some decision on how to carry this forward.

This meet was attended by the Diocesan Social Work Directors besides Rev. Fr. Faustine Lobo, National Director, PMSI, Rev. Fr. Dr. Lourdu Samy, Regional Coordinator, KRPPIC, Dr. Rita Norohna, Director, CEDSE, Mangalore and Mr. Anthony Mendonca, Retd. KAS.

The meeting began at 9.30 a.m and concluded at 4.30 p.m. with a vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS.
