Women Empowerment Programme In Karnataka

A two days meet to review the progress of the ongoing Women Empowerment Programme was held at KROSS Resource Centre, Bangalore on 18th & 19th November, 2015 in which 45 participants representing the 14 Diocesan Social Service Societies participated.

The participants presented their quarterly reports highlighting their achievements during the last quarter. The reports were well presented and appreciated by one and all.

As this was the final review meeting of the current phase of the programme, the participants were provided inputs on submitting the final completion report for the period June 2013 to December 2015 and were asked to present a well-documented report.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS appreciated the work being done by the staff for empowering the women and asked the participants to be more focussed on sustainability of the Taluk level and District level Federations so that in time to come, the members themselves should own and manage the Federations.

Rev. Fr. Justin D’souza, Director, KDDC, Karwar participated in the two day review meet as an observer and reminded the participants that we have to put in our best efforts so that the most marginalized receive just dues.

Mr. Sujan Crasta, CODP, Managalore welcomed the participants and Ms Amitha, ORBIT, Bidar proposed the vote of thanks. The two days’ meet was moderated and facilitated by Sr. Nancy Lobo and Sr. Lucia, KROSS, Bangalore.
