Review of Program “Paustik” - Mitigating Malnutrition – 9th & 10th February 2016:

The work done during the past one year is commendable as we have been able to build a good rapport with various stake-holders like Health Department, Women & Child Department, Angwanwadis, Primary Health Centres, ASHA Workers, etc. and we must continue working in collaboration with Government Institutions to prevent and mitigate malnourishment. The awareness provided through training, focus group discussions, one to one counselling and street plays is good but we need to focus more on seeing that the identified persons get the benefit from the Government through our regular intervention. He congratulated the teams from BDSSS, Belgaum, BDDS, Bellary and Seva Sangama, Gulbarga for their concerted efforts. The documentation has to be well maintained as we should have facts and figures to substantiate our claims and the reports should be result based said Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS in his keynote address.

Mr. G. M. Varghese, Program Officer, KROSS moderated the two day meet and appreciated the work done by the Diocesan Team. He remarked that though there is a marked difference in the percentage of malnourished children, adolescents, pregnant women and lactating mothers we have to work much more to reduce the rate of malnourishment. He along with the Diocesan Team prepared an Action Plan for the next three months so that better coordinated efforts by all the three operating partners was possible to mitigate malnourishment.

Mr. G. M. Varghese welcomed the gathering and Sr. Jeevalatha, BDSSS proposed the vote of thanks.
