Workshop On Good Governance

A Workshop on Good Governance was conducted on 11th March, 2016 at KROSS Resource Centre organized by Karnataka Regional Organization for Social Service (KROSS), Bangalore for the Diocesan Partner Staff from all over Karnataka.

The Workshop was formally inaugurated by lighting of a lamp.

In his keynote address, Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS impressed upon the participants why we need good governance today, the tools available which could be utilized to see that the concerned work for the people, what is our role in working towards this goal and gave concrete examples of good governance and how we can own accountability to usher in good governance in our system.

Mr. Addoor Krishnarao who facilitated the day’s workshop quoted acts, rules and amendments brought in by the Government and how we should use the tools like Right to Information, Citizen’s Charter, Consumer Protection Right, Sakala, etc. to keep the administration on its toes and see that good governance becomes a reality.

The workshop was moderated Mr. Rayappa, BDDS, Bellary. Mr. G. M. Varghese, KROSS, Bangalore welcomed the Resource Person and the participants and gave a brief introduction of the theme “Good Governance”. Mr. Sundar, KDDC, Karwar proposed the vote of thanks.
