KROSS held a Training on Network, Lobby & Advocacy on 21.09.2016 at its Resource Centre, Bangalore in which 62 participants from different organizations from all over the state of Karnataka participated. The training was facilitated by Advocate Robin Christopher & Team from Bangalore.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS in his keynote address remarked that Networking is a matter of creating useful linkages, both within and among communities, organizations, and societies, in order to mobilize resources and achieve various goals. Advocacy for systems change should tend to focus on improving the human rights at all levels. Lobbying should help in making the legislative process more efficient so that the lawmakers are provided with correct information to enable them to come up with a balanced decision.

The Resource Team explained how an Alliance Building through Network, Lobby & Advocacy was possible and its advantages. It was clarified that broader participation means you have people with different skills & experience, activities are well coordinated, increases credibility & legitimacy, have a larger voice, impact can be created from different geographical locations, wider reach and media attention.

Mr. Clement Fernandes, Manager-Programs, welcomed the Resource Team & Participants and moderated the sessions. Ms Shobha, BDSSS proposed the vote of thanks.
