KROSS Governing Board Meeting – 17th November, 2016

The KROSS Governing Body Meeting was held on 17th November, 2016 at Organization for Development of People (ODP), Mysore which was presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Issac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi and President, KROSS.

As the Meeting was hosted at ODP, Mysore, Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Vazhapilly Bishop of Mysore and President, ODP extended a warm welcome to one and all and briefed of the origin of the Diocese.

Rev. Fr. Staney D’Almeda, Director, ODP welcomed Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Issac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi and President, KROSS, Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Vazhapilly Bishop of Mysore and Vice-President KROSS, the Diocesan Social Work Directors, the Board Members and Special Invitees

Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Issac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi and President, KROSS requested all Members to actively participate in the meeting, evaluate the reports being presented and give their valuable feed-back and suggestions which would be an advantage to the Organization to make the programs a success.

The Program Officers presented the reports of the program supported by KROSS which were being implemented by the Diocesan Social Work Societies under the supervision of the concerned program officer. The Board Members sought clarifications and raised certain queries which were clarified. The feedback and suggestions given by the Members were accepted.

Two Diocesan Social Work Directors also presented the work done by them in their respective dioceses. They were Rev. Fr. Oswald Monteiro, CODP, Mangalore and Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Kunneth, JVSSS, Mandya. The other Diocesan Social Work Directors sought a lot of clarifications as they felt they too could replicate some of their programs in their Dioceses. The presentations were well appreciated with a good ovation.

Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Issac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi and President, KROSS congratulated Rev. Fr. Jose Ayamkudy, Director, DKRDS, Belthangady on his winning the Jewel of India Award for his contribution towards Community Development Works awarded by International Institute of Education & Management, New Delhi and Rev. Fr. Santosh Bapu, Director, Seva Sangama, Gulbarga on his winning the award for the best Child Care Centre awarded by Women & Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka.

The Annual Report of SAMRUDI Rural Upliftment Foundation was released on this occasion.

The meeting was attended by Board Member Professor Rita Noronha, the special invitee Rev. Fr. Faustine Lobo and the Diocesan Social Work Directors.

The meeting began at 9.30 a.m and concluded at 2.30 p.m. with a vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS.
