Training on Facilitation Skills to Trainers – 22nd to 24th November, 2016.

KROSS organized a Training on Facilitation Skills to the Trainers of its Partners and like-minded organizations in Karnataka from 22nd to 24th November, 2016. A total of 40 participants from all the State participated in the trainings.

A facilitator is someone who engages in the activity of facilitation and helps a group of people understand their common objectives and assists them to plan how to achieve these objectives; in doing so, the facilitator remains "neutral" meaning he/she does not take a particular position. If you want to be a good facilitator then you have to develop the qualities of Faithfulness, Acceptance, Communicator, Inspirer, Listener, Imitator, Teacher, Adviser, Technician, Observer and Reader said Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS in his keynote address.

Dr. Christina Kanthraj, Faculty, Centre for Women's Studies, Manasagangotri, University of Mysore facilitated the training on 22nd and 23rd November, 2016 and Ms Coni P. Alva, Director, I Create continued the training on 24th November, 2016. The Resource Persons kept the participants well engaged through innovative sessions in improving their skills of observance, reflex, listening, communication, diagnosis, analysis and emphasised the need to avoid dependency.

Mr. Clement Fernandes, Manager-Programs, welcomed the Resource Team & Participants and moderated the three days’ sessions. Ms Yamuna, ODP, Mysore and Mr. Chinnappa, BDDS, Bellary proposed the vote of thanks.
