Workshop on Revisting Internal Learning & Monitoring System

A two days workshop was conducted on 23rd and 24th July, 2014 at KROSS Resource Centre to revisit the Internal Learning & Monitoring System (ILMS) which was in use by the Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) since the last 12 years. There was a paradigm shift towards Rights Based Approach, Inclusion and Gender as a cross cutting issue and the need was felt that the existing tool was incomplete had to be redesigned to include the above factors besides mainstreaming disability and HIV/AIDS within this ambit.

Professor, Dr. Rita Noronha facilitated the Workshop and provided valuable insights into bringing in the desired outcome. Ms Fairlene Soji represented CBM who have ventured to join hands with KROSS in developing a revised ILMS Tool. Ms Smitha, Mr. Anand and Mr. Sebastian from Mobility India provided some inputs to integrate Disability into the system. The 36 participants from all over Karnataka brought in their rich experiences and learning’s from the field and gave helpful tips on integrating the issues raised and to come out with a better monitoring tool.

Rev. Fr. Peter Brank, Director, KROSS in his address remarked that the tool was in place for a decade, now it was time to relook at it and revisit it as the time has changed and there is a need for repositioning the CBOs and empower women at the grassroots to the required level.

Ms Annapurna, Coordinator, CMSSS, Hassan welcomed the gathering, Sr. Nancy, Program Officer, KROSS moderated the two days workshop and Ms Kalavathi, ODP, Mysore proposed the vote of thanks.
